White Ibis at Walden Creek, a tidal creek on the west side of the Cape Fear River. The marshland around Walden Creek and the Cape Fear River islands are the home of the largest population of ground-nesting colonial waterbirds in North Carolina. Birds found here include the gull-billed tern, . Bald Head Island is the tip of the Cap.
